Google has added the feature of selecting predefined responses to emails. They have also taken the whole concept one step further to use the presets automatically by combining them with filters (based on field values). This new feature is called “Canned responses” and is turned on in Labs.
What can this enable?
New way of interacting with customers through customer support
Auto-buy time before responding
Accept or decline invitations
Really mess things up if you can’t set the filters
May lead to more fraud using Gmail (i.e. simulate)
…?
Now I am only waiting for scheduled e-mails, that is “Send this to Tim at 11.12 pm”.
