id Software has officially launched “Quake Live” which is open and free to play in the browser as long as ads are shown. The game is built on Quake III and has quickly won many fans. The business model of offering a game for free but financing with ads has been vastly popular in Asia and is being tried in the western world as well. Special with this release is of course that it is played directly in the browser.
A whole world will from now on be less productive!
